The Central Lady Bobcats Softball team started their season off pretty good, hopefully they’ll continue to progress and do better as a team. Although they lost some of the games so far, they have won a few. They work hard at practices and at games by cheering each other on, supporting their team mates, and keeping their heads in the game!
The team won their game against West,March 21st, score of 13-3 they have another game Tuesday vs. Campbell Co. at Campbell co. The team won the game with a score of 13-4.
At practices they give it all; they even practice in the rain and cold weather. The team includes many experienced players, some have played the sport their whole life. Others are playing their first year and despite the lack of experience, they play with enthusiasm.
The team has two experienced Freshmen pitchers, Megan Meritt and Sarah Hinton, despite their age, they pitch like pros. Another crucial member is the catcher, Hailey Carr, she has been playing for almost three years. The infield is the most important part, 1st basemen, 2nd base-men, Kaley Thorpe and shortstop, Abbey Whisenant, and 3rd basemen players are skilled. Their outfield is pretty credentialed as well as the infield.
Quotes from the team; “Live life like 3:2 count when life throws you a curve ball, knock it out of the park”- Gabby, “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game”- coach Mitchell.
