As students enter their senior year of high school, college is a big topic on their minds. Worrying about being accepted to college can cause a great deal of stress. However, a few Central High School students got accepted early to the University of Tennessee Knoxville!
Mrs. Sharp, the college and career counselor here at CHS, explains exactly how those students were accepted into UTK and who those students are.

Central High School is one of three schools in Knox County that are flagship and do early offers. Four out of the 26 students who were accepted into UTK include Elliott Wiggers, Quiara Houston, Holden Hackler, and Rowan Smith. These students were able to get in for multiple reasons.

They all had at least a 4.0 four-course GPA, a completed application by Friday, November 10, 2023, and met the requirements for guaranteed admissions. These students got these first offers and were accepted early into college.
When asked whether the students applied for multiple colleges or just UTK, Mrs. Sharp responded by saying, “Overall, most of the students did apply for multiple places, but there were some kids who only applied for this one and got accepted.”

When getting accepted into college, some kids are lucky enough to get in early, while others have to wait until the academic year is over. At Central High School, 26 students were lucky enough to be able to apply early and get accepted for a plethora of reasons.
Congratulations to the 26 students who got accepted: Addison Brewer, Addison Collins, Grace Craft, Oliver Dattilo, Hadlie DeFoe, Faith Ferriera, Elizabeth Greene, Holden Hackler, Madelyne Harvey, Cadence Horner, Quiara Houston, Eleena Lawson, Megan Lett, Luke Mccluskey, Catie Padilla, Emily Piedot, Jayden Randolph, Emma Riffey, Allison Rogers, Emerson Rysewyk, Ebalyn Sellers, Peyton Sharp, Joshua Sherrod, Rowan Smith, Anna Swart, Elliott Wiggers.
