Thankgiving Traditions

Almost 90% of America celebrates Thanksgiving every year. Each and every family has their own special traditions. Like staying home or meeting with family to reunite with loved ones.

Thanksgiving brings families together. When talking to Central Students, there was a common theme that most people looked forward to celebrating Thanksgiving because of, their family. “It’s a tradition,” Alivia Clouse said. Many students celebrate with their families and make food together, talking about what they are thankful for or their goals. Some people, like Jasmine Mork, celebrate by “staying home with the family.” For some people, it’s not a real tradition, but they sometimes celebrate it just to spend time with family and get closer to them.

People might celebrate by making food with the family, or maybe just hanging out with family. But sometimes it’s to bring a lot of family together, either from family drama or from other states, or even from other countries. Thanksgiving is not just for family either. There’s such a thing as a Friendsgiving, where you hang out with your best friends, make food, play games, and even give gifts.

Thanksgiving, with its inherent traditions and values, has the remarkable ability to forge deep connections among people and unite them in a shared spirit of gratitude. One of the most enchanting aspects of Thanksgiving is the gathering of loved ones. As the warm, comforting aromas waft through the air, they serve as a beckoning call, drawing family and friends from near or far. In this moment, differences and distances don’t exist, as the magic of Thanksgiving stitches hearts and souls together.

Thanksgiving is celebrated in many ways, traditional or not. It can bring happiness and wonderful memories. Thanksgiving is a day to realize what you have accomplished and be grateful for it.
