Behind every great film is a compelling story and the same holds true for the people who adore them. Meet Blake Wilson, a sophomore who embodies the essence of a true film enthusiast, music aficionado, exceptional baker, and dedicated athlete.

Blake is no doubt a creative soul, very passionate about music and movies. Blake not only plays any instrument he can get his hands on but also exhibits a voracious appetite for horror movies, having seen most films in the genre. He gives amazing recommendations on both music and movies.
Even with a sarcastic attitude, Blake is unfailingly charismatic and compassionate. He can easily keep a conversation going, making him an excellent friend to have. “If somebody starts a conversation with me, I can carry it on, I just can’t start conversations,” he said.
He speaks with a slight southern accent that makes him pronounce the letter “E” like the letter “I” in some words. He’s proud of it. It’s part of what makes him unique.
Blake has an innate ability to brighten every room he walks into with a pearly white smile that is complimented by hazel eyes and wavy dark brown hair, bleached at the tips. The same silver chain sits around his neck each day. A staple in his everyday wardrobe, much like his gold-rimmed glasses.
With an indie style, Blake never fails to produce great outfits. His outfits usually consist of baggy jeans or jorts and a cool t-shirt or carefully curated sweater from the thrift shop. He got his style from his intake of media, such as TV and social media.

Blake’s journey into horror films began when he was just a young child. He wouldn’t be able to sleep at night, so he’d go downstairs to find his father on the couch, watching horror movies. He would sit and watch with him.
It became a tradition for them to watch these each night. Although the movies terrified young Blake, causing more nightmares, he was still glad to have that experience, as it sparked one of his greatest interests.
“I went downstairs cause I couldn’t sleep and my dad was watching the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and it scared me- a lot! But like- legitimately that became kind of a thing. I would just go downstairs and watch the horror movies with him so I’ve seen so many it’s hard to stop.” Blake said, recalling one of these nights in particular.

Two of his other hobbies include track, cross country and wrestling. He has done track for a large chunk of his life, but now that he’s here at Central he’s gone to cross country. Just recently, he joined the wrestling team, though he has never done the sport before.
Blake’s distinct interests and passions not only make him a unique individual but also adds a richness to his character. He not only enjoys playing all kinds of instruments but also loves exploring the different genres and getting lost in the melodies. He has never been to an actual concert, but the thought of it ignites a spark of excitement in his hazel eyes. Blake’s music taste is a motley of shoe-gaze and metal, making his taste as diverse as he is.
Not only does he craft music, but he also crafts wonderful desserts. Blake is always baking away in the kitchen whether it’s just him, his mom or his friends. He loves to bake for his friends and often gives out the sweets he makes.
Conspiracy theories are also something he enjoys. They prompt a deeper thinking about the secrets of life. “I believe that aliens have been to Earth multiple times, but they don’t bother to talk to us because we’re so dumb,” said Blake.

As Blake continues to navigate all his hobbies, one thing remains the same—the utter authenticity that defines him. Blake weaves a narrative that is uniquely his own, a story of passion, exploration, and continuing to do what makes him happy.
