Kelsea Ballerini’s Homecoming Show

Written by: Kate Taylor and Scout Gilreath

Kelsea Ballerini returned to Knoxville for her ‘Homecoming Show’ at Thompson Boling Arena on November 2.

On September 14 Central High School held a mandatory Teams meeting where Kelsea Ballerini unexpectedly joined. On this Teams meeting, Kelsea graciously invited all Central students and staff to her concert for free!

The concert had two opening acts, Georgia Webster and Ingrid Andress. Then Kelsea Ballerini came out and during her song “Half Of My Hometown” Kenny Chesney joined Ballerini on stage.

Kelsea Ballerini, country music star born on 09/12/1993, went to our school, Central High School from her freshman year to her sophomore year before moving to Nashville, TN. Central had a huge impact on her, which she sings about in her song ‘Half of My Hometown (Feat. Kenny Chesney). She may not have graduated from Central, but Central left a huge impact in her heart and soul even after moving her sophomore year.
