The University of Tennessee updated the policy on acceptance for undergraduates. Guaranteeing admission for students with a 4.0 GPA or higher.
The necessary GPA is a 4.0 or higher or you have to be in the top 10% of your high school class. The policy does not guarantee admission to a specific department, major, program, or class because more review may be needed before accepting you.
Central High is a flagship school, the Flagship Scholarship is offered to students who graduate from one of the Flagship high schools. The scholarship covers a student’s tuition and required fees for up to eight semesters. Due to the program, many students from Central are considering UT as one of their main college options.
After interviewing a few seniors at Central, most of them believe this new policy will be very helpful. They say that instead of worrying about whether they are going to get into college, they can just be proud of themselves for their hard work. Although the policy is very helpful, it can also make it more stressful for the people who don’t qualify. The UT Guaranteed Admissions policy is very beneficial for undergraduates and will improve the experience of applying to college.
