On September 25th Central Golf will tee up for the 2023 district tournament at 3 Ridges Golf Course. The Bobcat Times reached out to coach Luke Ladd for his outlook.

Central’s golf team is made up of a very diverse roster. When asked about how older guys have stepped up to help the newcomers Ladd stated, “I feel like just watching the older guys has motivated our younger players who might not have a signature part of their game yet.”
With the regular season coming to an end and district tournaments beginning, we asked Ladd what tournaments the team most looked forward to throughout the year. “Mostly just the regular 9-hole tournaments we play after school,” he said. “And especially the district tournaments, the guys really look forward to that.”
When asked about the bond the team shares, Ladd had a lot of positive comments. “Golf is different because we don’t have the ability to practice every day like some other teams,” He said. “I think it helps that a lot of these guys were friends prior to joining the team and it’s been really fun to watch them grow as players over the season.”

Golf is a sport where practice doesn’t automatically translate to performance. When asked about this Ladd stated, “Yeah it’s really challenging because you can’t just walk out on the course any given day and expect to shoot par. I think that in-game experience really helps them improve as players.”
With district tournaments coming up, now is the perfect time to learn about and support Central Golf. You can see the schedule below. So get out there and support our Bobcats!
