Amelia Rodriguez: In Her Element
Amelia is one of the new freshman additions to The Bobcat Times. Though she is trying out for the Lady Bobcats Softball team, her favorite activity is volleyball. Her passion for the sport [volleyball] was grown and resides in Knoxville, TN.
While it may be true that she’s lived in Knox her life, she’s traveled over five states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Missouri, Mississippi, Kentucky, Texas and Florida. But that’s just to name a few. However, no matter what state she travels to her go to food is chicken nuggets.
Don’t let her road trips fool you! She still keeps up with her work by studying every second that she gets. Though she studies and keeps up to date on her assignments. One of her biggest pet peeves is when the teacher calls on her hand isn’t even raised.
One other thing she has a problem with is the need that we as teenagers have this weighing pressure to be perfect. Smell good, look good, behave like you have sense, good grades, etc. While all those things are good things to have, It’s hard to be perfect all the time. When she feels anxious because of all of this unnecessary pressure, she eases it all with some Brent Faiyez, Frank Ocean or some Bryson Tiller. When her homework is done, she loves to reward herself with a friendly afternoon with her friends.

A fun fact about her is that her family is of Moroccan descent. She finds herself reminiscing on her childhood when she is nostalgic. Flashbacks take her back to her Barbie days. When she snaps out of her nostalgic trance and into her ideal future, she sees herself attending all four years of college and leaving with a rewarding degree.
