New Shows and Movies to look forward to this Spring 2023

There are TONS of Movies and Shows coming out every month. But this Spring has more than ever. To add to your watch list, here are the five new shows and films from Netflix and HBO MAX getting the most attention.

Starting off this list with the top picks from Netflix.

Number one, Season Two of Shadow and Bone. Released Mar. 16.
Based on a book trilogy, Shadow in Bone is a compelling fantasy that tells the story of many characters in a world of magic called the Grishaverse. If you want an action-pact fantasy with lots of fighting, you might find yourself watching Shadow and Bone. The show scores 86 on Rotten Tomatoes. Shadow and Bone is rated TV-14.

Number two, Season four of YOU. YOU was split across two parts on Netflix – part 1 premiered on Feb. 9, and Part 2 followed on Mar. 9. Netflix’s original YOU stars a main character who suffers from erotomania which is seen in his relationships with the people around him.
There are tons of twists and turns along the way. If you love phycological thrillers that have you on your toes, you should check out YOU. The show scores 92 on Rotten Tomatoes. YOU is rated TV-MA.

Number three, Murder Mystery 2. Released Mar. 24. If you are looking for a fun comedy with a splash of action, then you should totally add this to your list. This movie features private detectives, Nick and Audrey Spitz that find themselves in the middle of an international investigation when a friend is abducted. The movie scores 46 on Rotten Tomatoes. Murder Mystery 2 is rated PG-13.

Next onto HBO Max.

Number four, HBO’s original, The Last of Us. Released Jan. 15. The television program “The Last of Us” was based on the 2013 video game about surviving in a world where a widespread fungal infection has turned its victims into monsters that have destroyed the human population. If you enjoy watching post-apocalyptic action, The Last of Us is a perfect watch. The show ranks 96 on Rotten Tomatoes. HBO rates it 16+.

Number five, Season One of Walker: Independence. Walker: Independence is the spin-off prequel of Walker, which then essentially was the recent reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger. Set in the late 1800s, this series follows the main protagonist Abby Walker, who suffers a great loss on her journey out West. There are many twists and turns along the way. If you enjoy an old Western crime, check this show out. Walker: Independence is ranked 71 on Rotten Tomatoes. The show is rated PG.
