Central Men’s Soccer is now in full swing! The Bobcats kicked off their 2-game pre-season with a 0-2 loss to a strong Webb team on March 2. Then on March 7, they played a tough game against Alcoa losing 2-5, with goals coming from sophomore Bailey Weaver and sophomore Brody Hawkins. The team started their regular season play on March 21 with a close game against Fulton with a goal from freshman Devin Cole, and then tying the game 2-2 in the final minutes with a penalty kick from senior Micah Perkinson.

Two days later on March 23, The Bobcats had a tough 1-7 loss against Bearden, with senior Cameron Weaver scoring off a beautiful free kick. “This season I have been focusing on three habits of success, commitment, accountability, and work ethic. Throughout the first four games, we’ve gotten better at understanding what’s necessary to practice habits of success.” said coach Chris Quinn.

From March 30-April 2, the Bobcats played in the Bearden Invitational. The boys put on an excellent performance beating Gallatin 3-0, with goals from sophomore Ulises Rodrigues, senior Alex Ndayikengurukiye, junior Breaden Kercher, and a clean sheet from junior Jackson Lore. Then the boys beat Jefferson County 3-1, with 2 goals from sophomore Ulises Rodrigues, and 1 goal from senior Alex Ndayikengurukiye. “The Bearden Invitational is always a jumping-off point for us. This season is no different as the guys meshed together to put together their two best performances of this young season.” Quinn said.
Coming off these wins, the boys are fired up and ready to play Seymour on Friday, April 6, and Halls on Saturday, April 8. Come out and support the team!
