Charlotte Hickman

Charlotte Hickman is a sophomore in Central High School.  She likes to think she is an open book, and she considers herself a very artistic and talented person.

Charlotte enjoys doing a lot of things. She finds it interesting going for bike rides on the weekends. She likes to go to local parks and sometimes just be around her house.

People would often assume that she doesn’t like them or that she has something against them but in reality she is the complete opposite. She said, “I think a lot of people think I don’t like them, or I’m always in a bad mood, but I don’t think that’s true.”

She has visited places like New Mexico, Idaho, and South Carolina. Something that she loves about South Carolina is the beach. Her family, who she is close with, goes to the beach together every summer. “They’re always helping with things and inspiring me to do better,” she says.

Thinking of the future can be intimidating and difficult for some people. Charlotte isn’t sure what her future is going to look like, but she is still very optimistic about it. “I try to keep my grades high enough that I can have opportunities, even if I don’t know what it is that I want to do with those opportunities.”

She is part of a group where students from around the county get together once a month to figure out ways to make Knoxville better. She said, “I hope that makes an improvement.”

Charlotte is also very talented. She plays the Violin, and she is also part of the Central High School band. Most of the time she is busy, she spends so much time on band that she doesn’t have time to do more things.

While being part of the Band takes a lot of her time, she enjoys being part of it. She said, “I guess I just like to be a part of something bigger than myself. I like to make music that people enjoy.”

In the future she sees music in her life; “It will always be a part of my life to some extent.” Since she was little, music has been part of her life, it’s something that she shares with her family.

However, she also finds time to do what she enjoys. She likes to read fantasy, mystery and thriller books. Some of the authors and books she likes are Legend born by Tracy Deon and Dauntless by Elisa A. Bonnin. She reads everyday if she has time and considers herself a big reader. Some of her favorite artists are Mmxtoon and Taylor Swift, who she is going to see at a concert in May.
