The Central High Dance team is at every football and basketball game, and they even compete in national UDA competitions. There is a lot that goes on within the team that people don’t get to see. The CHS Dance Team is more than what everyone sees; it’s a bonded family.
Senior Lexie Dishner says her favorite thing about being on the dance team is having a group of girls she can always count on. She loves how much time dance takes up because she said it is like hanging out with her best friends constantly. When asked what her favorite memory was Lexie said, “When we were practicing and we started all singing Taylor Swifts “All too well” in the floor of the auditorium.” Lexie says that dancing has been her favorite part of high school and she’s going to miss it a lot next year.

I also intervewieed the coach of the dance team and ehre is what she had to say! When asked she thought made the team so close she said, ” The girls are really good at communicating and listening to one each other. Like a family we all of course have our disagreements but the way we talk them out after bonds the girls more.” She said the most meaningful part about coaching was building connections with the girls and watching them grow up is the best part for her. Shelia said “There is no better feeling then that.”

The girls on the CHS dance team are more then just team mates and that shows through the way they interact with each other. Dance has brought them their best friends. Sidelines football games, basketball games, and even practices the girls love being with each other.
