It’s Homecoming week for the Bobcats!

The tremendous win on Friday, Sept. 17 against Heritage High has energized Bobcat Country. Central improved their record from 0-2 to 2-3 the past couple weeks. The Bobcats battle Hardin Valley for homecoming this week.

The team improved and showed how dominant they still are last Friday. They managed to put up an outstanding 51 points against Heritage. The defense played well all around. Defense was able to prevent Heritage from scoring the whole night. Chase Adams and Brody Cranford, both sophomores, had double digit tackles and played extremely well.

“We ran the ball extremely well, and both the offense line and perimeter blocking was very solid. We had a really good performance by both running backs,” said Coach Nick Craney.

The running backs were the major part of Central’s offense. Senior Shannon Mills dominated Heritage defense with 12 carries, 110 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Sophomore Frank Johnson IV performed an outstanding 10 carries, 160 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns.

With these two running backs going back and forth putting up these numbers, it will be hard to stop Central’s running strategy these next upcoming games.

This Friday’s game against Hardin Valley will be a big one. The game isn’t a district game, but it will help their record and status to win. After a spirit-filled week at school, students feel ready to cheer on the bobcats. It would look good for Central to keep a win streak for this Friday’s game.
