Mr.Huckaba may be a new teacher at Central, but he’s been down these halls before. He discovered his love for music as a student at Central, graduating with the class of 2015. His interest in teaching comes in part from seeing students worrying about their grades.

Chorus wasn’t the original plan for Mr.Huckaba, even as a student. During his freshman year of high school, he signed up for PE, but the class was full. He then moved into Vocal Music 1. During one of the classes, the chorus teacher Mrs. Becky Thomas persuaded him to join the ensemble. During his years in high school, he participated in many plays and musicals, his favorite being Les Miserables.
One of his goals as a teacher is to provide a place for students where they can get a break from the stresses of school and work at their own pace. He wants to be a teacher who rewards effort and hard-work. Now as a teacher he doesn’t get to sing as much, but still enjoys teaching others how to.
In his free time, he likes to watch sports. Some of his favorites teams include the Detroit Lions (NFL), Phoenix Suns (NBA), Colorado Rockies (MLB), Nashville Predators (NHL), and the University of Tennessee for all college sports. Other than watching sports he also likes to play video games.
