Central’s SGA Elections

Student Government elections are this Wednesday, October 7. In addition to student body presidents, class presidents will also be on the ballot.

Senior Alex Gadd is running for student body president. He plans to “break the barrier between underclassmen and upperclassmen” and “create a more inclusive environment.” He first served as freshman class president and then SGA Secretary the past two years.

Ella Wilds is also a senior running for student body president. Her plans are “prioritize student safety” and “listen to all student voices regardless of grade.” She was elected as sophomore class president in 2018 and she is on her third active year in SGA.

Other student candidates are:

Senior Class President:

Devin Hopson

I’ve had experience leading my peers as woodwind captain in the band and as vice president of the Key Club. I hope to foster a more inclusive campus culture. The Bobcat Nation is very diverse! I won’t promise to do anything I’m not absolutely sure I’ll have the power to do, but what I can promise is that I’ll listen, and I’ll make sure you’re heard. There ought to be a consistent dialogue between the class president and their class. SGA should be an intermediary between the student body and the school administration. Make your voices heard!

Bri Richards

Junior Class President:

Ella Blair

Sophomore Class President:

  • Marley Newman
Jack Turrentine

Freshmen Class President:

Deonna Strevel
Aylee Suarez

Votes open on Wednesday, October 7. Students will get an email in their Outlook email account; voting ends at 4th block. If you do not know what Outlook is, here is a link to access your student account, which is your “s” number @student.knoxschools.org
