As the influx of new teachers at Central arrive, one in particular stands out from the crowd: Ms. Jessica Keith. Brimming with personality and love for the area, Ms. Keith is one of Central’s newest English teachers.

Ms. Keith is a seasoned teacher with over 17 years of experience. “Teaching is my calling,” she says. She further explains, “I have always loved teaching; it is a very fulfilling job watching people’s personalities grow and change.” When asked why she chose English as her specific subject, she said, “I’ve always had a knack for it and my professors in college said I was good at it as well.” She is a well-accomplished teacher with everything from sponsoring extra curricular activities to seeing former students graduate at the top of their classes. A fan of poetry and of a good book, Ms.Keith is a force to be reckoned with.

She was called to the Fountain City area in part because of the artistic vibe it gives off. She has always liked it here at Central ever since she attended a job convention here many years ago and always hoped to come back. She left her old job teaching at Happy Valley High for a more diverse environment as well as a change of scenery.

She has sponsored and even run many extra curricular activities in and outside of school. She previously ran a poetry club, basketball, softball, poetry slams for charity, and scholar bowl in which her team placed 25th in the nation. She is making a positive impact on students’ lives and loves to see them form into young adults. Let’s all give Ms. Keith a bobcat welcome.
