Central High School football players Xavier Washington and Demetrien Johnson were picked for the East vs West football, the Bobcats head coach Bryson Rosser was selected to be the head coach of the East team. The game will take place at Austin Peay University on December 7. Football players are hand selected by the East vs West committee to play in an intense football game.

Washington has been playing the game he loves since he was in the eighth grade, “It’s a relief to know that all the work has paid off.” Washington has worked hard and his actions show it. Washington plays safety for Central High School and continues to enjoy a successful senior season. When asked how he feels about being selected, he replied, “I feel extremely thrilled to be chosen because this is a game for extremely talented players.”

The other player picked representing CHS in the East team is senior Demetrien Johnson. When asked how he felt about being selected he replied, “I’m very proud of myself for earning the chance to play this type of football game.” Johnson plays safety and is also a wide receiver for the Bobcats. Johnson also has played an effective season. Johnson was surprised to hear the news about himself, “I feel like I am overlooked on the field but it shows that staying humble and hard work gets you selected in an All-Star game.”

Rounding out the Bobcat representation, Bryson
Rosser was selected to be the head coach of the East team in the East vs West All-Star game. When asked his thoughts about being selected to coach he said, “It’s an honor and privilege for people to know what I have done, and to represent me and my family and the school.” Rosser is thrilled to not only be coaching his own Bobcats, but talented players all over East Tennessee. “We got some good talent, really good coaching staff, and good skill players who will bring all star mentality to the game.”
The East vs West Game will be played at Austin Peay State University on December 7. Kickoff will start at 7:00.
