
Parents, students, and people from all over the Fountain City community came out to support the Bobcats as they took on Cocke County at their first playoff game Friday night.
Beginning the first quarter, the Bobcats started out strong. Senior, Daunte Holliday scored a touchdown for Central, giving them the lead, 7-0 in the early half. Junior, Jason Meritts runs the ball into the endzone, making the Bobcats 14-0. Shortly after, Cocke County made a touchdown, putting themselves on the board.
Starting the second quarter, Central leads 21-6. Halfway through, senior, Demetrien Johnson gets a punt return and an interception to score another touchdown for the Bobcats. With Central ahead now 34-6, Sophomore Kalib Fortner ends the half with back to back sacks.

After halftime, the Cats take the field again to finish the game as strong as they started. Junior, Dakota Fawver sends a pass to Holliday making them 41-6. Senior Xavier Washington ends the game with a pick six, giving the Bobcats another win.
After the game, Fortner stated, “As a team we played great. Once we clean up things offensively and defensively, I think that will help us go even further in the post season.”
Central will host the second round of playoffs next Friday, November 9th, when they take on the Daniel Boone High Trailblazers. The game will be at 7:00 pm.
