The Central volleyball team has fought hard this season. As the underdog team progresses, they continue to work hard on and off the court.

The team started it season back in August with a loss in a tri-match against Gibbs and Powell. As the season progressed, the girls played ten games, winning four. Because of their low win to loss ratio, the girls are seen as underdogs amid the other teams they are up against.
The team has put in many hours on the court improving their skills. The hope is to be strong enough to prevail in the district tournament in October.
Grace Cochran, a senior on the team, believes they are “headed in the right direction.¨ According to Cochran, the girls’ teamwork has drastically improved through practices.
A close game against Alcoa Thursday had the Bobcats winning one out of their three sets, sadly ending the match in a loss.

Despite having a tough season, the team is very close. ¨After every game we have [a team meeting] and break and say ‘family’,¨ says Cochran.
For those who wish to support the girls, there is a great opportunity coming up. Central will host a tournament Saturday, September 15 beginning at 9 AM. Come out and cheer them on!
The best of luck to the volleyball team as their season continues!
