When your friend group collectively shrugs in the group message in response to “What’s the move,” check out the Parkway Drive-In. The Drive-In costs $8 for people 13+ and features 2-3 movies starting at dusk. For the opening weekend, April 27 and 28, Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther will be shown.
The gates open at 7pm but cars start lining up in order to get a good spot, so make sure you try to get there a little earlier. If you have a hatchback or a truck, you can fill it with blankets and pillows, or you can bring lawn chairs and sit outside of the car. Make sure that if you have a hatchback that raises above the height of your car, to bring a rope to tie it down so you don’t block anyone’s view.
The Drive-In is first come general admission so saving spots is not allowed. If you want to go with friends, make sure you arrive together. You will be glad to know that, as long as they are well behaved, dogs are allowed.
The sound for the movie is transmitted through FM stereo so you can use the radio in your car or rent a radio for $1. They ask that you do not play any loud music from your car other than the station for the movie.
Unlike most movie theaters, outside food and drink ARE permitted, so feel free to stock up on snacks before entering. Although you can bring your own, there are also concessions including popcorn, mozzarella sticks, fountain drinks, and various sweets.
